Each year students who sign up to participate in SAFE go to Camp Daggett in September. The day is spent planning activities for the year, learning about effective youth substance use prevention, and team building. Each SAFE youth that attends the meeting participates in leadership training that focuses on prevention messaging, risk and protective factors, and the importance of effectively engaging policymakers. During the Camp Daggett meeting the SAFE youth members also pledged to remain substance free and described their reason for wanting to stay substance free.
